Access solutions company ASSA ABLOY announced today the launch of a new sustainability program, with 2025 targets encompassing environmentalEnvironmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature., socialSocial criteria examine how it manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates., and supply chain goals. The company announced the new initiatives with the release of its Sustainability Report 2020, highlighting the completion of its 2015-2020 sustainability program.
In its own operations, ASSA ABLOY’s new 2025 sustainability targets (targets are on a 2019 base) include 25% reductions in carbon footprint, energy intensity and hazardous waste intensity, as well as a 50% reduction in organic solvents intensity. In addition, the company is targeting to have 100% of sites ISO 14001 certified.
Supply management goals include having 95% of spend in identified risk countries from sustainability audited suppliers, and 95% of direct and indirect material spend covered by the company’s Business Partner Code of Conduct.
ASSA ABLOY is also targeting reductions of 33% in injury rate and injury lost day rate, and has set a gender diversity goal to have 30% female representation in management positions.
In addition to its 2025 targets, ASSA ABLOY has longer term sustainability goals in place, including commitments to halve emissions by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050.
