Electric truck manufacturer Xos announced today an order from FedEx Ground operators for 120 zero emission electric trucks. Delivery of the vehicles is expected to begin later this year through 2022, for use in 35 different FedEx Ground operators based in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Texas.
Gio Sordoni, Xos’ Co-Founder and COO, said:
“We are delighted to provide our FedEx Ground customers with our best-in-class electric trucks. We look forward to continuing to support them in meeting their site infrastructure and charging needs at vehicle depots in addition to offering Fleet-as-a-Service and financing alternatives to streamline their purchasing, maintenance, and operating experience.”
The agreement follows FedEx’s recent commitment to achieve carbon neutral operations by 2040. In March, the company stated that it has designated more than $2 billion of initial investments to help achieve carbon neutrality, with investments focused on the key areas of vehicle electrification, sustainable energy, and carbon sequestration.

According to Xos, the company is continuing discussions with the FedEx Ground operators for additional vehicle deliveries in 2022 and 2023.
