Diversified financial services firm Cowen announced today the appointment of John Patrick Miller as ESG Policy Analyst for Cowen’s Washington Research Group (WRG).

Miller joins Cowen after serving as Vice President and senior ESG research analyst at Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Calvert Research and Management, where he developed company-level ESG risk/reward assessment framework targeted towards the global energy and utility sectors, and worked on securities selection for the firm’s thematic energy and water funds. Before joining Calvert, Miller held various positions at the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), most recently as branch chief in the Office of Enforcement, Division of Analytics and Surveillance.
