Climate Management & Accounting Platform (CMAP) Persefoni announced today it is expanding its international reach, with the establishment of a UK team, and the appointment of Anne Reaney as Co-Founder of Persefoni UK and Head of Sales, EMEA.

Launched in 2020, Persefoni’s SaaS platform enables enterprises and institutional investors to measure, analyze, plan, forecast, and report on their carbon footprint, leveraging AI to provide users with contextual sustainability performance scores for their organization and allowing them to manage their carbon transactions and inventory with the same rigor as their financial ones.

The firm’s expansion comes amid a growing need for climate and carbon data to meet emerging disclosure requirements in jurisdictions around the world. The UK government announced last month plans to introduce legislation effective April 2022 requiring more than 1,300 of the country’s largest publicly listed companies and financial institutions to provide disclosures regarding climate-related financial risks and opportunities, in line with Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations.

Last month, Persefoni successfully completed a series B financing round, raising over $100 million, with proceeds aimed at accelerating the company’s geographic and product expansion plans.

Kentaro Kawamori, CEO and Co-Founder of Persefoni, said:

“On the heels of our historic $101M Series B funding round, we are tremendously proud to be taking the next step in our global expansion with the establishment of our UK team. Anne’s deep expertise at the intersection of data, technology, and sustainable finance, along with her passion to make meaningful change, makes her a natural fit to spearhead this important journey to help build transparency and trust into organizations’ decarbonization actions in the UK and EMEA.”

In her new roles, Reaney will be responsible for leading Persefoni’s strategic growth across all go-to-market channels, including direct sales, solution development, and partnerships, and will help ensure regional product development and customer success. She joins the company from TruValue Labs, most recently serving as Head of Sales, Europe, where she worked with European financial institutions to enhance ESG integration strategies. Reaney also held various leadership roles at financial information and services company IHS Markit, most recently leading Enterprise Data Management technology sales across the UK & Nordic regions.

Reaney, said:

“The industry’s drive to understand and tackle carbon implications has never been more urgent. We’re at a critical juncture in how financial markets digest and act upon carbon-related data. I couldn’t imagine better timing, or a more exciting opportunity, than to join Persefoni in their mission to empower the world’s leading financial institutions to put climate management and analysis at the center of those decisions that will matter most.”
