Newton Investment Management Limited, part of global investment company BNY Mellon announced today the appointment of Therese Niklasson as Global Head of Sustainable Investment. Niklasson will join the Newton executive committee, and be responsible for driving the company’s strategic plan for responsible and sustainable investment globally.
Niklasson will report to Euan Munro, CEO of Newton Mellon Investment Management.

In her new role, Niklasson will oversee the responsible research agenda and lead the integration, measurement and evidencing of ESGEnvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments. More factors within the investment processes, manage the development of Newton’s responsible investment team, provide oversight of governance and processes relating to responsible and sustainable investing, and advance the further development and innovation of the company’s product capabilities to deliver sustainable investment outcomes.
Niklasson joins the company from global asset manager Ninety One Plc, where she most recently served as Global Head of Sustainability, responsible for leading the development and execution of the firm’s sustainability strategy.
