Professional services firm EY announced today the appointment of Dr. Matthew Bell as Global Leader of its Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) practice.

In his new role, Bell will lead the firm’s team of over 2,500 multidisciplinary professionals that help businesses understand and manage the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and other sustainability issues. Bell has been with EY for nearly 15 years, most recently leading the CCaSS practice for UK and Ireland.

Marie-Laure Delarue, EY Global Vice Chair – Assurance, says:

“Climate change and sustainability are among the most vital issues of our time and, over more than two decades, the EY organization has built an incredibly strong reputation, advising businesses across the globe, on a whole host of related risks and opportunities. Matthew has been an integral part of this work from the outset and I know that, under his leadership, CCaSS teams will help EY clients position themselves to manage the many challenges ahead.”

EY established its Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice over 20 years ago, and it supports businesses in more than 150 countries around the world with services including climate and decarbonization, integration of ESG and sustainability into strategy, management of environment, health and safety (EHS) risks, and enhanced corporate reporting and accounting.

Bell said:

“The business world has come a long way in recent years, with climate change and sustainability now much more widely recognized as crucial C-suite priorities. As I look ahead, I want to help ensure all EY clients have the support they need to achieve their sustainability goals. I am extremely proud to have the opportunity to lead the EY teams effort on sustainability and climate change at such an important time for our planet; and I hope to help many more organizations navigate the risks and opportunities on the horizon.”
