Zurich-based asset management firm Vontobel announced today the appointment of Jean-Louis Nakamura as Head of its Sustainable Equities Boutique.
Nakamura joins Vontobel after 14 years at Swiss private bank Lombard Odier, where he most recently served as Chief investment officer for Asia Pacific and CEO of Lombard Odier Hong Kong. Before joining Lombard Odier, he was CEO and CIO of the Civil Service Pension Fund and the French Pension Reserve Fund.
Christel Rendu de Lint, Deputy Head of Investments at Vontobel, said:
“The appointment of Jean-Louis Nakamura reflects our commitment to our sustainable equities capabilities. I look forward to working with Jean-Louis. His strong investment background and experience in managing investment teams will help us to further develop the boutique at a time when sustainable investing is entering a new and exciting phase, in which investors look for innovative and transparent solutions.”
In his new role, Nakamura will lead the boutique’s team of 35 investment professionals across Zurich, Milan and Hong Kong. The CHF 15 billion (US$15 billion) boutique offers solutions in sustainable emerging market equities, Swiss equities, and impact and thematic investing.
Nakamura takes over the role from Hans Speich, who is retiring after 16 years at Vontobel.
“I am thrilled to join Vontobel, whose strong investment culture and portfolio management discipline helps investors to achieve their long-term financial objectives.”
