Paris-based asset management firm, Carmignac, announced today the appointment of Lloyd McAllister as Head of Sustainable Investment.

In his new role, McAllister will be responsible for leading Carmignac’s sustainable investment team, which supports the fund management team with analysis, thematic research and company engagement, advising the business on sustainable investing trends and ESG regulation, and executing the firm’s strategic sustainable investment roadmap. McAllister will be based in London.

McAllister said:

“Carmignac is well known for its bold approach and, as a family business, a long-term mindset putting sustainability at the core of its investment approach. I look forward to joining the business at an exciting time in its development and working with the team to further expand its sustainable investing framework.”

McAllister joins Carmignac from Newton Investment Management, where he worked most recently as Head of ESG Research. Prior to joining Newton, McAllister served in a series of Sustainability Services roles at KPMG UK.

McAllister’s appointment coincides with Sandra Crowl’s retirement from her current role as Stewardship Director. McAllister will report to Maxime Carmignac, Managing Director of Carmignac UK and Executive Sponsor of ESG at Carmignac.

Maxime Carmignac said:

“As a high-conviction active manager, sustainable investing is at the heart of our business and investment process. It is also one of our client’s top priorities and the demand for transparent, differentiated and genuinely sustainable investment solutions continues to grow. I’m thrilled that Lloyd will be joining the team. His deep experience in both ESG research and analysis will help us capitalise on the many opportunities available, as well as navigate the increasingly complex regulatory environment.”
