Professional services firm KPMG in Ireland and climate-focused software provider CoolPlanet announced a new alliance, aimed at delivering end-to-end decarbonization solutions for clients.
Founded in 2008, Ireland-based CoolPlanet provides decarbonization software aimed at enabling companies to understand energy and emissions data in real time, and as part of a decarbonization platform offering including consulting and engineering services to help set, implement and report on sustainability targets. The company’s offerings include applications supporting decarbonization pathways and carbon inventorization, and subject-matter experts in areas including energy efficiency, electrification of heat, refrigeration and EV fleet transition, and other specialities, for sectors ranging from shipping, manufacturing and mining to commercial real estate, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals.
CoolPlanet Chief Strategy Officer Ben Churchill said:
“Success is about operationalizing sustainability and decarbonization, not just reporting, and this is precisely why the combination of CoolPlanet and KPMG’s skills can support companies on different aspects of their decarbonization journey.”
Under the new alliance, the companies will offer carbon accounting solutions and data analytics to examine, model and predict carbon performance across portfolios of assets, enabling a clearer view of actions to support clients’ decarbonization goals.
KPMG International Climate Change and Decarbonization Leader and Global Head of Renewable Energy, Mike Hayes, said:
“I am delighted that KPMG in Ireland is working with CoolPlanet to help equip clients with leading tools and step-by-step advisory to decarbonize. This is only the beginning of the journey between the two organizations. KPMG professionals are already exploring other ways to work together, especially in the area of energy efficiency tools for clients.”
