Credit ratings, benchmarks and analytics provider S&P Global announced today new two new senior appointments of its ESGEnvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments. More and sustainability-focused unit, S&P Global Sustainable1, including Chris Heusler as President, and Dr. Richard Mattison as Vice Chair.
S&P Global launched Sustainable1 in 2021, creating an integrated group for the company’s full suite of sustainability offerings, including its benchmarking, analytics, evaluations, and indices products and solutions. The group serves as a single source for the ESGEnvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments. More products, insights and solutions from all four S&P Global divisions, S&P Dow Jones Indices, S&P Global Market Intelligence, S&P Global Platts, and S&P Global Ratings.

Mattison has been serving as President of S&P Global Sustainable1 since shortly after its launch in 2021, Prior to the appointment, Mattison served as CEO of leading carbon and environmentalEnvironmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature. More data and risk analysis company Trucost, acquired by S&P Global in 2016, and leading the company for over 20 years. In his new role, Mattison will spearhead market engagement, while continuing to lead market innovation, develop critical research and thought leadership and engage with market participants, policy makers, regulators and standard setting bodies.
