Energy and electrification advisory, services, and software solutions provider Schneider Electric announced a partnership with construction and manufacturing-focused sustainability platform One Click LCA to provide AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) professionals with environmental data on more than 50,000 electrical products, and enabling data-driven sustainable design decisions.

Under the new partnership, Schneider Electric will make Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) on the products accessible on One Click LCA’s AI-powered sustainability platform and solutions.

Sorouch Kheradmand, Global Head of Sustainability Partnerships at Schneider Electric, said:

“By sharing this extensive amount of EPDs for our electrical products on One Click LCA platform, we are making it easier for professionals in the AEC industry to select the most sustainable products.”

One Click LCA offers software to help decarbonize the construction value chain, providing automated life-cycle assessment (LCA) and EPDs to calculate the environmental impacts of building, infrastructure, and renovation projects and products.

According to the companies, the partnership comes to address a lack of comprehensive environmental data for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components, which has created challenges for AEC professionals in assessing the embodied carbon of construction projects. The companies added that the availability of the EPDs will help professionals to incorporate the environmental impacts of electrification choices into their project life cycle assessments and mitigate MEP carbon emissions.

Panu Pasanen, CEO & Founder of One Click LCA, said:

“Contractors and engineers need a clear understanding of the impact of all their materials to build sustainably. We hope that significant advancement from Schneider Electric will inspire others to share their EDP data more broadly.”
