Carbon Equity Raises €105 Million for Climate Tech Fund
Impact investing platform Carbon Equity announced that it has raised €105 million at the closing of Climate Tech Portfolio Fund III, its third fund of funds targeting investments in climate solution innovations.
Founded in 2021, Amsterdam-based Carbon Equity aims to enable individuals to invest in leading climate-focused private equity and venture capital funds. With the new closing, the firm has now reached €300 million in AUM, and is backing more than 200 climate tech companies across over 25 specialist funds.
Liza Rubinstein, Co-founder and Head of Impact at Carbon Equity, said:
“This is only the beginning. We are committed to enabling as many people as possible to put their capital to work for the energy transition, creating more momentum and co-ownership of the transition.”
The firm launched Climate Tech Portfolio Fund III in March 2024, and invests through private equity and venture capital funds in the EU and the U.S. to back at least 150 climate tech companies in areas ranging from green hydrogen and CO2-free cement to iron-air batteries and new-generation proteins.
In a post announcing the closing, Carbon Equity Partner and Co-founder International Saskia Bruysten said:
“Some say the moment for climate investing has passed.
“That attention is shifting. That the momentum is slowing.
“But this fund tells a different story:
“Private capital is stepping up – and helping drive the energy transition forward.”
