Global professional services firm Deloitte has appointed Smruti Naik-Jones as Chief Sustainability Officer for its newly launched Europe, Middle East and Africa business, Deloitte EMEA.

The new EMEA business, which officially launched this week, was initially announced in February 2026, bringing together 16 participating firms operating in more than 80 countries across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, in order to serve the EMEA market at greater scale through strategic alignment across participating firms. The EMEA business includes 6,000 partners and 132,000 professionals, and combined revenues of €20 billion.

Naik-Jones takes on her new role after 20 years at Deloitte, including serving for the past three years as the first Chief Sustainability Officer for Deloitte UK and North and South Europe, and leading the firm’s “WorldClimate” strategy designed to drive Deloitte’s own net zero and sustainability agenda.

In her new role, Naik-Jones will be responsible for the Deloitte Sustainability strategy and ambition, focused on the firm’s climate and sustainability transformation journey across the region.

In a post announcing the new position, Naik-Jones said:

“We are at a pivotal moment in an important region. My priority for Deloitte EMEA is to play a leading role in helping drive this transition to a sustainable future.”
