Dubai-based multinational logistics firm DP World announced today the launch of EcoRoute, a new suite of solutions aimed at helping businesses to build more efficient and lower-emissions supply chains.
Key focus areas of the new solutions suite include network design, lower-carbon logistics solutions, emissions measurement and strategic partnerships.
Ayla Bajwa, DP World Group Senior Vice President – Sustainability, said:
“EcoRoute is about turning ambition into action. It gives our customers the tools, insights and partnerships needed to reduce emissions across complex supply chains, while also delivering broader environmental and social impact.”
According to the company, the new launch comes as freight and logistics account for approximately 10% of global energy-related CO₂ emissions, while growing regulatory requirements, investor scrutiny, and customer expectations are increasing pressure on companies to improve supply chain performance and reduce emissions.
The new platform is built around several pillars designed to support supply chain efficiency and emissions reductions, including supply chain optimization to help customers balance cost, speed, and emissions through improved network design; lower-carbon logistics solutions, including modal shift programs, alternative fuel and electric transport options, and lower-carbon warehousing; carbon insetting programs aimed at helping customers reduce Scope 3 emissions within their own value chains, and emissions measurement and visibility through DP World’s Carbon Emissions Calculator, providing emissions data across transport modes and enabling customers to identify opportunities to reduce their supply chain carbon footprint.
Beat Simon, DP World Group Chief Operating Officer, Logistics, said:
“At DP World, we believe a well-connected supply chain is a more sustainable one. EcoRoute helps customers reduce emissions while improving efficiency and resilience by combining connectivity, data and operational expertise across our global network.”
