Automation, robotics, and sustainable materials startup Hyperion Robotics announced that it has raised $7.4 million in a growth funding round, with proceeds from the financing aimed at supporting the expansion of its platform to produce infrastructure components faster, at lower cost, and with a substantially lower carbon footprint.

Founded in 2020 by Fernando De los Rios, Ashish Mohite, and Henry Unterreiner, Finland-based Hyperion provides solutions enabling Hyperion Robotics enables the construction industry to build smarter, faster, and greener, using 3D printing technologies and localized microfactories to low carbon concrete foundations.

According to Hyperion, its robotic microfactories can produce infrastructure components up to three times faster than traditional methods, while reducing costs as much as 50% and CO₂ emissions as much as 70%. The company said that it is replacing labor-intensive construction with a factory-based model, deployed close to project sites to reduce logistics, speed up delivery and enable consistent, localized and more cost-efficient production for European infrastructure.

The company’s technology core is “Forge,” a software platform that intergrates design, structural engineering, code-compliance, robotics and factory operations into a single system. Hyperion said that it is planning to launch its first UK site, Forge I in partnership with LKAB, producing infrastructure components for sectors including energy, utilities, water, data centers and carbon capture.

According to the company, the financing comes as Europe is entering its largest infrastructure renewal cycle in decades, with aging power grids, water systems and industrial facilities requiring unprecedented reinvestment, alongside growing demand for new data centers, energy capacity and carbon capture infrastructure. The company said that its approach addresses labor shortages, budget constraints and decarbonization pressures by converting infrastructure into a digitally manufactured product rather than a one-off construction project, using up to 75% less material than traditional methods.

Hyperion said that the new capital will support the launch of Forge I, advance development of the Forge platform and accelerate Hyperion’s expansion across European infrastructure markets.

The new funding round was co-led by Course Corrected and the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), with participation from RE Ventures and existing investors Lifeline Ventures, Übermorgen Ventures and PC Rettig Impact & Co. The funding round brings Hyperion’s total capital raised to nearly $20 million.
