Hong Kong-headquartered sustainability reporting and supply chain AI company MioTech announced a new agreement to combine with the green finance and ESG business of CCX Group, China’s largest credit ratings agency, with the companies describing the transaction as aimed at forming a premier sustainability and ESG business in Asia.
According to the companies, the merger comes in response to recent market shifts across Asia, including the emergence of mandatory sustainability reporting regimes, and growing expectations for Asian exporters to meet sustainability reporting and due diligence requirements such as the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and the US Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), creating a need to access information across tiers of suppliers, and jurisdictions.
Founded in 2016, MioTech utilizes AI software to help corporates, manufacturers, exporters and financial institutions across Asia map their supply chains, run supply chain sustainability assessments, measure emissions, and meet sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance obligations across their value chains. The company’s investors include GIC, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, HSBC, B Capital Group, Horizons Ventures, TOM Group and ZhenFund.
CCX Group’s green finance arm, CCX Green Finance, provides services including green finance assessment and certification, ESG ratings and advisory, and carbon neutrality research.
According to the companies, the new combined entity, CCX-MioTech, will focus on agentic AI for sustainability reporting and sustainable supply chain management, providing software that maps multi-tier supplier networks, runs supply chain sustainability assessments, tracks emissions and compliance exposure across the value chain, and automates reporting, complemented by CCX’s green finance methodologies, ratings franchise and advisory practice.
The companies said that the first output from the newly combined entity will be an MCP (Model Context Protocol) service, exposing the combined group’s sustainability data, evaluation methodologies and industry knowledge to clients’ own AI assistants and internal systems through standardized interfaces, and an AI agent for sustainability reporting that works from a company’s existing data, supporting evidence and applicable disclosure frameworks to handle data consolidation, report drafting, compliance review and translation.
MioTech Founder Jason Tu said:
“The next decade of sustainability in Asia will be decided in supply chains, not just in annual reports. Agentic AI is what makes that tractable: software that investigates, assesses and reports across thousands of suppliers without a thousand analysts. Combining with CCX is how we take that to the scale the region needs.”
