Enterprise sustainability data management platform Sweep and carbon intelligence solutions provider Climatiq announced a new partnership aimed at enabling companies to request and receive product carbon footprints (PCFs) from suppliers.
According to Sweep and Climateiq, the new partnership comes as emerging sustainability reporting regulations, such as the EU’s CSRD and California’s SB253 are pressuring companies to move Scope 3 reporting beyond generic, spend-based industry averages, while many of their suppliers have never calculated a product carbon footprint.
Rachel Delacour, CEO and co-founder of Sweep, said:
“Heads of sustainability all tell us the same thing: they’d rather have estimated supplier emissions data than supplier-provided data they can’t defend. With Climatiq, we’re giving every supplier, including those starting from scratch, a simple way to produce a credible product footprint, and giving buyers numbers they can actually stand behind in their Scope 3 reporting.”
Under the new partnership, Climatiq’s calculation engine will power a guided PCF flow inside Sweep’s supply chain offering, enabling suppliers to upload a bill of materials, with Sweep’s AI and Climateiq’s emission factor matching producing an auditable, PACT-aligned PCF.
The companies’ also noted that by using the same methodology, the Guided PCF offering enables buyers to compare footprints across their supplier base and see which purchased products to focus on for sourcing and reduction.
Hessam Lavi, co-founder and CEO of Climatiq, said:
“Climatiq’s mission has always been to put carbon intelligence at the heart of business decision-making. Partnering with Sweep helps us deliver that by making reliable product-level carbon insights accessible across enterprise supply chains at a whole new scale, so that emissions more visible than ever.”
