Professional services firm KPMG LLP and climate solutions software provider Watershed announced today a new partnership aimed at providing solutions to enable companies to measure and address carbon emissions.

Founded in 2019, Watershed provides a software platform helping businesses plan, implement and run climate programs, with solutions allowing companies to analyze and measure scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and including dashboards enabling drill-downs by categories including scope, category, vendor, and location, benchmarked against industry peers.

Under the new collaboration, the companies will provide a suite of capabilities helping shared customers to pursue real carbon reductions, with KPMG’s advisory services drawing insights from Watershed’s carbon data platform to generate decisions and map decarbonization pathways.

Kristin Thayer, Head of Partnerships at Watershed said:

“We’re thrilled to work with KPMG to offer our shared customers a climate program and ecosystem of ESG services to provide granular measurement, tangible emissions reduction, and audit-ready climate disclosure.”

KPMG Advisory Partner Mark Golovcsenko, ESG and Climate Strategy Leader, added:

“Companies evolving their businesses to meet emissions reduction targets amidst growing pressure and incentives need high-quality, trusted carbon metrics and reporting. We are working with them to navigate and simplify the complexities of their climate journey. Together with Watershed, we’ll help companies action their climate programs while building trust with stakeholders and driving value.”
