Amazon announced the signing of four new long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for carbon-free electricity from new wind power projects in southern and central Sweden.
The company said that the new projects will add nearly 200 MW of new carbon-free energy capacity across Sweden. Once all of the projects are fully operational, Amazon will have invested in nine projects in Sweden with a wind power capacity of 985 MW, enough to power the equivalent of more than 350,000 households annually.
In 2025, Amazon was the largest corporate buyer of carbon-free energy in Sweden. The company has invested in more than 700 renewable energy projects globally, representing more than 40 GW of carbon-free energy capacity, the largest of any company in the world, according to the company. In Europe alone, Amazon has invested in more than 260 projects adding over 10 GW of new carbon-free energy capacity.
The new PPAs cover the 132 MW Fageråsen wind project in Malung-Sälen, Dalarna, developed by OX2, Eolus and Dala Vind; the 17.5 MW Boarp wind farm in Vaggeryd, Jönköping; the 18 MW Dållebo wind farm in Ulricehamn, Västra Götaland; and the 31.5 MW Fågelås wind farm in Hjo, Västra Götaland.
Boarp, Dållebo and Fågelås are part of the Saena portfolio, developed by Sweden-based renewable energy companies Eolus and owned by investment manager Mirova. All three projects are already operational and delivering carbon-free electricity to the Swedish grid. Construction of the Fageråsen wind farm, which is being developed by Eolus and Swedish renewable energy companies OX2 and Dala Vind, began earlier this year and is currently underway.

The investments are part of Amazon’s broader Climate Pledge goal to reach net-zero emissions across its entire business by 2040, the company said.
