HSBC announced the appointment of Nneka Chike-Obi as its new Head of Sustainability within HSBC Global Investment Research.
Based in Hong Kong, Chike-Obi will be responsible for leading the firm’s global team of sustainability analysts.
Chike-Obi takes on her new role after joining HSBC in December 2025 as Director, Sustainability – Global Investment Research. Prior to joining HSBC, she worked at Sustainable Fitch as Head of APAC, ESG Research, Ratings & Opinions, and at Fitch Ratings as Director, Sustainable Finance.
According to David May, Global Head of Investment Research at HSBC, the new appointment forms part of an initiative to move the firm’s sustainability coverage into its Macro Strategy pillar, strengthening the connection between sustainability themes with HSBC’s macro and asset class views.
In a post announcing the appointment, May said:
