Leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm Goldman Sachs announced the appointment of Megan Hogan as its new Chief Diversity Officer.

In her new role, Hogan will have responsibility for Goldman’s global diversity and inclusion strategy, with a focus on driving progress towards the firm’s aspirational goals, further enhancing its position as an employer of choice for diverse professionals, and evolving its approach to client engagement. Additionally, she will oversee all firmwide programming focused on the development, retention and promotion of diverse professionals, including initiatives and events organized by the global Inclusion Networks, and manage the firm’s external partnerships with organizations focused on promoting inclusion and diversity.

In a statement announcing Hogan’s appointment, Goldman Sachs Global Head of Human Capital Management, Bentley de Beyer, said:

“Megan has already played a critical role in developing and implementing some of the firm’s most important inclusion and diversity initiatives, including the announcement of our firmwide aspirational goals, the launch of the Neurodiversity Hiring Initiative, and the recent expansion of the firm’s commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.”

Hogan joined Goldman Sachs in 2014, most recently serving as Managing Director, as well as chief operating officer of the Global Inclusion and Diversity Committee (GIDC). Prior to joining Goldman, Hogan worked as a Litigation Associate at international law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.

Hogan is taking on her new role following the announcement by current Chief Diversity Officer Erika Irish Brown that she will be departing the firm to take on the position of Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer and Global Head of Talent at Citi.

de Beyer added:

“Megan’s wealth of experience, thought leadership and exceptional track record position her well for this role, and I look forward to partnering with her as she assumes her important new responsibilities.”
