Pure play sustainability advisory firm ERM announced today the acquisition of marine planning and environmental consultancy MarineSpace.

Founded in 2006, UK-based MarineSpace provides strategic and technical advice to a variety of coastal and marine industries, helping clients to develop responsibly, efficiently, and successfully. Services and capabilities include feasibility, site selection, consenting, permitting, and management services for marine development projects, geological, geophysical, and ecological surveys, marine development and planning, data management and interpretation, and marine archeology and maritime engineering.

Phil Durrant, Managing Director at MarineSpace, said:

According to ERM, MarineSpace UK-based team of marine scientists and development consultants will bring expertise to enable the company to offer consulting and services to marine developers globally, including the full offshore renewable project lifecycle.

The transaction builds on other consulting and advisory acquisitions ERM has made over the past several months, including specialist energy consultancy and low-carbon technology solutions firm Element Energy, Dutch sustainability consulting firm Sustainalize, energy, sustainability strategy consultancy E4tech, renewable energy advisory firm Renewables Consulting Group (RCG), Canadian sustainability and ESG advisory firm Stratos, and climate change and sustainability consultancy Point Advisory.
