Pure-play sustainability advisory firm ERM announced that its CEO Keryn James has stepped down from her role, and that Global COO David McArthur will take on the role of interim CEO, pending the appointment of a successor.
James has been with ERM for nearly 30 years, and has served as Group Chief Executive since 2017.
James said:
“It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to serve ERM. The purpose and people at this firm make it one of the most special places I have ever spent time in. I would like to thank all ERMers, past and present, for their passion, skill, commitment and friendship. I leave the business in a much stronger position, with great momentum, continued outperformance, and with solid financial and strategic backing from KKR.”
ERM is the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, with a team of over 5,500 in more than 150 offices across over 40 countries. Over the past several months, the firm has been actively expanding its skillset and capabilities in the sustainability and energy transition consulting space, with a series of recent acquisitions, including specialist energy consultancy and low-carbon technology solutions firm Element Energy, renewable energy consultancy Arcus, Dutch sustainability consulting firm Sustainalize, energy, sustainability strategy consultancy E4tech, renewable energy advisory firm Renewables Consulting Group (RCG), and Canadian sustainability and ESG advisory firm Stratos.
