Climate solutions-focused investment business Just Climate announced today the appointment of Souleymane Ba as Partner on the investment team. Ba will also join Just Climate’s Executive Committee and its Investment Committee.
Founded in October 2021 by Generation Investment Management, a sustainability-focused investment firm chaired by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Just Climate aims to deliver impact by focusing on investments in projects and companies in hard to abate sectors and geographies, while simultaneously delivering appropriate risk-adjusted returns. The fund targets catalytic climate solutions in sectors including energy, transport, industry, and buildings and natural climate solutions for food, agriculture, and oceans.
Ba joins the business after serving for 10 years at investment firm Helios Investment Partners, where he was responsible for investments in several sectors including Financial Services and Telecom Infrastructure. He has also worked at several private equity and financial services firms including Warburg Pincus, The Carlyle Group, and Morgan Stanley.
The announcement marks a further expansion of the Just Climate team, including the recent appointments of Clara Barby as CEO of the Impact Management Project as Senior Partner in and Justin Adams as Head of Partnerships.
