Alternative investment specialist LGT Capital Partners announced today it has raised $550 million for the final close of Crown Impact, its first impact-focused private equity investment fund, significantly exceeding its target of $350 million, following strong demand and a growing investment opportunity set.
The fund invests across three core impact themes, including climate action, inclusive growth, and healthcare, and focuses on co-investments alongside conventional and impact managers. These opportunities are subject to impact assessment, including their alignment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the underlying targets and indicators, in addition to rigorous investment due diligence.
Tycho Sneyers, Managing Partner at LGT Capital Partners, said:
“Crown Impact will be a well-diversified portfolio across sectors, investment styles and geographies, while applying rigorous impact measurement and management practices, which also include external impact verification and transparent impact reporting.”
Crown Impact, classified as an Article 9 fund under SFDR, met strong demand from a base of investors including pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, and family offices across Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
Ivan Vercoutère, Managing Partner at LGT Capital Partners, said:
“We are pleased to have seen significant interest from investors for our first dedicated impact program. In light of the powerful drivers for sustainability and inclusiveness, we will be able to select highly impactful and attractive investments from a continuously developing set of opportunities.”
