Equipment rental company United Rentals announced today the launch of Total Control Emissions Tracking, a new data-driven solution designed to help customers measure and report the environmentalEnvironmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature. footprint of their rental equipment.
The new tool was launched in the company’s cloud-based fleet management platform, Total Control, adding to the platform’s existing sustainability and efficiency-focused capabilities, including tracking engine hours to help reduce engine idling, and tracking fleet utilization to help right-size fleets.

The new tool enables companies to create estimated GHG and engine emissions reports based on the rental equipment they use. It provides insights that can help customers understand how they can make fleet and utilization changes to reduce equipment emissions. The solution also uses published emission factors to estimate greenhouse gas emissions and source pollutant emissions.
