Investment manager Nuveen has appointed Kelly Hagg to the newly created position of Senior Managing Director and Head of Responsible Investing Strategy & Solutions, according to an internal memo from the firm’s Global Head of Responsible Investing Amy O’Brien, seen by ESG Today.

In his new position, Hagg will assume management of the Nuveen’s responsible investing (RI) content strategy and data teams, and he will have responsibility for driving firm-wide coordination and alignment of resources in support of RI commercialization initiatives, according to the memo.

Hagg joins Nuveen after nearly 20 years at Janus Henderson Investors, where he most recently served as Global Head of Product Strategy and ESG for Distribution, focused on the global deployment of the firm’s ESG and sustainable investment strategy, and guiding the global product strategy and development lifecycle. Before joining Janus in 2003, Hagg worked at Fidelity Investments in Boston.

Hagg will be based in Denver and will report to Amy O’Brien.

In the memo, O’Brien said:

“I am confident that Kelly’s appointment and the broader expansion of talent on our team positions us well to usher in the next phase of RI at Nuveen across reporting, product innovation, advice, proprietary data/scoring, impact measurement and thought leadership.”
