IBM announced the launch of Maximo Emissions Management, a new AI-powered solution aimed at helping companies in asset-intensive industries, such as the energy, industry, transportation and buildings sectors, to track and report emissions.

The new solution forms part of a series of new capabilities added to the company’s intelligent asset management software suite, IBM Maximo.

According to IBM, the new solution enables companies to track and manage their operational continuous and fugitive emissions. The solution provides an operational dashboard, enabling users to access information regarding current environmental incidents, such as fugitive emissions caused by a leak, report incidents, look into improvement possibilities, access information into the CO2e impact of incidents, and track progress.

Through integration with IBM’s ESG data collection, analysis and reporting platform IBM Envizi, the solution also supports operational emissions reporting and sustainability, according to IBM.

In a post announcing the new IBM Maximo features, Kendra DeKeyrel, VP, ESG & Asset Management Products Leader at IBM, said:

“With the help of innovative AI-infused technology, enterprises can extend the lifespan of their assets and improve productivity and reliability, while reducing costs and advancing decarbonization.”
