Cloud-focused infrastructure and software provider Oracle announced today the launch of Oracle Fusion Cloud Sustainability, a new application aimed at enabling companies to manage and report on sustainability initiatives.
Forming part of Oracle’s cloud suite of SaaS applications, Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite, the new solution integrates data from across the platform’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain and manufacturing (SCM) applications, and enables analysis from its enterprise performance analysis and data intelligence tools, in order to provide businesses with a “flexible framework to capture and analyze critical sustainability data to enhance reporting, expand insights, improve decision-making, and accelerate progress towards environmentalEnvironmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature. goals,” the company said.
Key features of the new application include automated transaction records, using AI, classification rules, and sustainability metadata attributes to automatically create activity records and add transactions to a sustainability ledger; contextualized data, enabling users to see data across Oracle ERP, EPM and SCM applications to see assets, processes, suppliers, or products that need attention; prebuilt dashboards to provide a holistic view of sustainability performance, with the ability to drill down into the underlying details; audit and traceability capabilities, and; the ability to streamline data collection from third-party applications.
The new solution also includes emissions factor mapping, enabling users to calculate their organizations’ carbon footprint and obtain a more thorough understanding of the environmentalEnvironmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature. impact of business decisions, as well as to automatically calculate emissions for any type of activity using representative values or emission factors and comparisons based on global warming potentials.
