Climate solutions provider Watershed announced the launch of a series of new capabilities within its platform, aimed at enabling companies to manage ESG data and produce sustainability reports across all ESG metrics and reporting requirements.

According to Watershed, the new offering is being launched to address increasing challenges facing sustainability teams, driven by new and changing sustainability reporting regulations as well as growing requests for ESG data from clients and partners, while also facing increasing time and resource constraints.

Founded in 2019, Watershed initially focused on providing an enterprise sustainability platform to enable companies to measure, report, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, and over time expanded its capabilities to include areas such as waste, water, land-use change, and social and governance metrics.

With the new expansion, Watershed said that its platform now offers the capability to manage and measure all ESG data, including custom data and metrics, in addition to a new report builder capable of addressing any framework or regulatory system or customer requests for information, as well as report drafting tools to help spot gaps and improve reports with AI.

Key features highlighted by Watershed include pre-population of data and a stale data notification system within the report builder, and an AI advisor for report drafting with capability to answer questions based on prior reports or measurements, compare reports to industry peers, and to identify gaps or areas for improvement for reporting.

In a post announcing the new capabilities, Watershed said:

“Together, these capabilities bring new speed and efficiency to resource-constrained sustainability and ESG teams. With purpose-built, transparent AI, you can spend less time on reporting and more time on impact.”
