Global e-commerce company eBay announced today a series of new climate goals, including targets to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 90% and value chain emissions, including transportation and distribution by 20% by 2030. The company also stated that its offices and data centers will become carbon neutral by the end of 2021.
eBay’s 2030 emission reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as being in line with a 1.5°C global warming scenario.
