Focus will be on climate and sustainability engagements
HSBC Asset Management announced today that it has hired Christine Chow, appointing her as its new Head of Stewardship and Engagement, leading the firm’s responsible investing work around engagement with issuers and growing the firm’s research and insights in this area.
Chow takes over the role from Thomas O’Malley, who will become Head of Policy within HSBC AM’s Sustainability Office, which the firm launched earlier this year. O’Malley will be responsible for policy development related to sustainability and responsible investment.
According to HSBC AM, Chow will focus on climate and sustainability engagements that enable the transition to net-zero, and her role will be aligned with HSBC Group’s net zero strategy. The company said that she will also grow the engagement and stewardship team with additional hires in coming months.
