BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) announces the appointment of Alex Bernhardt as Global Head of Sustainability Research within its Sustainability Centre. In his new role, Bernhardt will be responsible for BNPP AM’s Sustainability research agenda and ESGEnvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments. Prior to joining BNPP AM, Bernhardt worked at Marsh McLennan, most recently serving as Director of Innovations, with responsibilities including helping clients to address systemic issues encompassing climate resilience, the catastrophe protection gap, diversity and sustainable infrastructure financing. He also served for several years as Head of Responsible Investments, US, for Marsh McLennan business Mercer, helping institutional investors to manage sustainability challenges in their portfolios, particularly related to climate change.
