Global IT services company HCLTech announced the launch of the HCLTech Sustainability School, and its first climate literacy learning series. The company said that the school is being rolled out to all 220,000+ employees, and the goal is to upskill every employee on ESGEnvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments. The new series was developed by Axa Climate to educate employees on how to contribute to the efforts of governments, NGOs and enterprises to address the causes of climate change. The course will cover topics ranging from threats to biodiversity, the exploitation of natural resources, and the impact on livelihoods across geographical regions, to helping participants understand how to reduce their own carbon footprints, and to look at innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions within HCLTech and with its clients.
HCLTech said that the new climate series is aimed at building “sustainability champions” among the company’s global employees.
