Professional services, consulting, and investment solutions provider Mercer announced today the appointment of Tamara Larsen to the newly created role of US ESG Investments Practice Leader to its US Wealth Leadership team.

In her new role, Larsen will join Mercer’s US Wealth Leadership team, with responsibility for providing ESG investment advice and solutions, while developing intellectual capital about ESG and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) investment strategies.

Chris Mahoney, US Wealth Leader at Mercer, said:

“Tamara is a dynamic leader with extensive leadership experience, and I am confident in her ability to navigate the shifting stakeholder pressures around the sustainable investment landscape. Her track record of serving clients and driving business success will enable us to continue expanding Mercer’s position as the consultant of choice.”

Before joining Mercer, Larsen served as Managing Director at investment management firm Agility, where she led the Mission-Aligned Investment practice and was a member of the Investment Committee. She also partnered with nonprofit clients and led the development of a client-centric climate, gender equality, and racial equity investing frameworks. Prior to Agility, Larsen was Head of Private Markets Research at Russell Investments and a Portfolio Manager for a Europe-focused impact investing mandate.

Larsen said:

“There is greater recognition that siloed approaches to ESG can fail to capture the intersectional dynamics that drive real-world results. We are uniquely positioned to maximize value for clients embarking on their ESG journey due to Mercer’s sustainability and DEI research and expertise and our portfolio design, management, and reporting capabilities. I am thrilled to join Mercer and collaborate with clients on how to construct their investment portfolios to further align with their values while also achieving long-term goals for portfolio performance.”
